Webster has a wonderful village

August 23, 2024

Midway through my drive to the village of Webster, I was at a stoplight and Snoop Dogg was blaring from a car radio. I knew it was going to be a good trip to Webster.

When I got to Webster, I found a great parking spot on the main street. I got out of the car and I could see La La Gift Shop across the street, so I decided to start my adventure there.

The front door was wide open as it was rather nice out today. While browsing through the main floor, a lady behind the register asked if I was looking for anything in particular. I told her I was just looking in general and that I was spending the afternoon in Webster. She told me that there was Buffalo Bills stuff upstairs if I was interested. I did go upstairs and look at the Bills items, but I already have plenty of Bills shirts and coffee mugs at home.

Back on the main floor, I got a 2024 Solar Eclipse sticker, bought that, and asked the clerk if there was any coffeeshops in Webster. She told me to go out the back door downstairs and I would see a café out there behind the store.

I went out the backdoor and saw the Village Bakery and Café. I went inside and went to the counter and ordered a decaf tea. With my tea, I left the café not knowing where I was going next.

I walked up to the main street and went along the sidewalk passing by all the shops. Way far down from where I parked, I found a bookstore called Yesterday’s Muse and I entered this store. Immediately, I was greeted by a middle aged man who also asked me if I was looking for anything in particular. I told him I was just looking around, and that is exactly what I did. I wasn’t really in the mood to pick up any books, so I decided to sit in one of the sofa chairs and relax. I sipped my tea while listening to jazz in the background. There was one younger woman who bought a couple of books, but when she left, I was the only customer left in the store. After enjoying some time in the sofa chair, I got up and decided to head home.
