Business Spotlight: Luigis Coffee in East Rochester

When I, Dan Bauman, lived in East Rochester in the early 2000’s, there was no coffee shop in the village. I had to go to Java’s in the city. There was actually no coffee shop in the village of East Rochester until October of last year. “I always felt East Rochester needed a coffee shop,“ Kris Weltman says. Kris, who owns Vita Bella Organic Salon in East Rochester is now also the owner of Luigis Coffee next to the salon. Living in Spencerport, I know how popular coffee shops can be with the Union Street Coffee House going strong after five years in business. Kris sees the coffee shop’s potential in East Rochester with “an amazing close knit community with so many people that walk,” she says. Kris serves locally roasted coffee from Evening Star Roasters and Wooden Journey Roaster and serves chai from The Chai Guy, who is also local. Her pastries are from Baker Street Bakery, Savoia, and Goodys Goodies and all her milk is from Pittsford Dairy. Come on down and get a coffee at this new coffee shop! If you’re like me and from a different town, it will be worth the trip to experience this cute shop. Luigis Coffee is located on 230 W. Commercial Street mixed in with all the many businesses on the main street. They are open Tuesday thru Friday from 7AM to 2PM and Saturday and Sunday from 8AM to 2PM.
